Does this look scary to you? Apparently it conjures up all kinds of scary in a 10 month old.
We have been giving Archer baths in the kitchen, in a plastic infant tub. He loves his baths, loves splashing around and playing in the water. But he's getting big and we wanted to transition him to taking baths in a real bathtub soon. So we got this great inflatable ducky bathtub that sits in your regular bathtub. It's small-ish, portable, has a sucker thing on the bottom to stabilize it to the floor of your bath. It even makes a duck sound when you squeeze its beak!
The first night we tried the new tub out. Archer was reluctant, but sat in the tub and played in the water a bit. We thought we were on our way to big boy baths soon!
Second night was a different story. Archer was terrified of the bath! Crying, he refused to sit in it. I gave him a "bath" while he was standing up in the ducky tub, screaming his head off.
Third night, same thing. Another standing/screaming "bath".
Soooo, I think we'll try it out one more night. And if he doesn't like the ducky bath, I guess it's back to the infant tub for him!
Color maybe? Or that plastic smell, he's such an organic baby now with his eating, that manufactured plastic is just too processed smelling :-)
